Current AnyEdit with newest PDT (Luna) seems to break file saving, keyboard short cuts #100

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a .html or .js (but strangely, not .php)
2. Edit it for a while (using the Search/replace dialog, CTRL+F, seems to
trigger it especially quickly)
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
After a while, suddenly most keyboard commands won't work for me (such as
CTRL+Z (undo), CTRL+Y (redo), CTRL+W (close current file), most importantly
CTRL+S (save file).

Also, in the File dialog, "Save" is grayed out. "Save All" does work and seems
to restore functionality for a short while.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AnyEdit 2.4.11 with PDT 3.3.0 on Eclipse 4.4.0 (Luna) All-In-One
OS: Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit

Please provide any additional information below.
- PDT is a PHP extension for Eclipse.
- If I remove AnyEdit from PDT, PDT works fine again.
- Previously I used a much older PDT version with AnyEdit, it worked fine then.

By "File dialog", I mean "File dropdown"

I have just reinstalled AnyEdit, I'm tailing .log and will post the results
here as soon as I can reproduce it.

Edit: I can't seem to reproduce it at all now, which is weird. I'll update here
if it happens again, but before it happened practically every minute, now I
haven't been able to reproduce it for over an hour.

Edit2: At first I couldn't reproduce it, but now I just did. The .log shows
nothing of relevance, the last line is nearly half an hour ago, and says this:

!ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 4 4 2014-09-09 15:27:21.838
!MESSAGE Plug-in 'org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.ui' contributed an invalid Menu
Extension (Path: 'org.eclipse.ui.projectConfigure' is invalid):
org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.internal.web.ui.convertProjects

Am I looking at the correct log file?

Just run "File->Count (selected) resources" and you should see log file change.

That shows me the following:

!ENTRY de.loskutov.anyedit.AnyEditTools 1 0 2014-09-09 16:13:51.073
!MESSAGE Workspace contains 84940 resources:
66869 files in 18065 folders and 6 projects.

In average each folder contains 3 files, and each project 14155 resources.

Also, my previous report that it did not happen in .php files is incorrect, it
happens there too.

Is there any additional info I can provide to help? Editing without AnyEdit
sucks...

So you have *nothing relevant* in the log file? This can be some crazy
incompatibility issue with PDT 3.3.0. Unfortunately I don't use this tool =>
I'm not really affected => may be if I will have time on weekend I will check
this.

Have you tried to ask PDT people if they know about any related issues? I would
do because I'm unaware about similar issues with any other tool here (just
check the bug tracker here). Seems to be some crazy problem with PDT.

Regards,
Andrey

This can probably be closed, I use PDT 3.4 with this version of AnyEdit now:

  AnyEditTools 2.4.13.201503032100 AnyEditTools.feature.group Andrey Loskutov

And all seems fine.

Whatever it was, I'm happy to see this issue disappearing but I didn't changed
anything for this one, so closing as wont fix.
