"Open file" must understand system variables in path #89

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Try to "open file" on $SHIPMENT_ROOT/path/to/file.txt or 
$(SHIPMENT_ROOT)/path/to/file.txt or ${SHIPMENT_ROOT}/path/to/file.txt

The file can't be found/opened.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Anyedit must be clever enough to understand path variables.
