It would be great if the Visual Studio 2022 support is added soon.

Pckmule commented 2 years ago

Agreed, this would be great to have ASAP!

P.S. @dprothero thanks for all the effort put into this extension BTW. It's been a really useful utility.

YamamotoKansuke commented 2 years ago

Would be great if this was available for VS 2022!

dprothero commented 2 years ago

Hey folks, sorry for the delay on this. It pains me to say this isn't a project I'm able to actively maintain. I'd be happy to hand it over to someone interested in maintaining it going forward.

Here's a VS2022 'works on my machine' build of the VSIX - https://github.com/timheuer/NgrokExtensions/actions/runs/1685207128 (artifact download has the vsix)

Thank you so much for this! I really didn't want to have to go back to having to enter my full ngrok command with the port and subdomain manually. This extension speeds up my workflow a whole lot.

This is working great for me with VS Professional 2022. 👍

This is the link to @timheuer's latest build of the extension for VS 2022 (At the time if this writing): https://github.com/timheuer/NgrokExtensions/actions/runs/1695368100

@timheuer Thanks for this. Is there an updated link because the artifact has expired?

timheuer commented 2 years ago

@jkatsiotis -- retention is only 90 days on artifacts...I re-ran the build and updated artifact here. I'm trying NOT to publish a version here to override the official one. https://github.com/timheuer/NgrokExtensions/actions/runs/2530153771

dprothero commented 2 years ago

@timheuer Are you interested in taking this over? I don't use Visual Studio anymore, so maintaining this has fallen off my to-do list.

timheuer commented 2 years ago

@dprothero First I must say thank you for this extension and starting the project. I can appreciate the task of running an OSS project that people use/love and then not being able to dedicate that time. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat, I fear that a 'yes' from me would not put the project in any better position. I think especially with some of the changes in ngrok going forward this project needs someone who can follow along more with that product and as manage the VS versions to support. I'd sadly be selfish in only supporting the latest and I know that wouldn't sit well.

dprothero commented 2 years ago

@timheuer that is wisdom. There should be a "rescue shelter" for OSS projects that need a forever home. I will circulate with the folks here at Twilio.

Are you on the right version of VS? Latest version?
