Finalize project goals

Currently the goals of the project are

• Detect a Gun shot event.
• Take series of pictures for a sensable duration of time.
• Post data to webservice that could then triangulate location based other devices reporting in your area and push out notifications.

Are there other ideas that should be added?

@twinn what's the purpose of the "panaramic pictures" to try and catch someone in the act?

Yep exactly, panaramic camera hardware is hard to come by though, so I think instead we try and point the camera towards the sound origin instead. This might be a phase 2 requirement.

I think their prices are way too high for what it is... but the concept is there. I know we can use image_magic to unwrap spherical images ie. http://www.fmwconcepts.com/imagemagick/fisheye2pano/index.php

I'm thinking for phase 1 we drop the camera requirement. Security cameras are pretty inexpensive. Positioning the shot detector in a position where it could get a good image might also leave it open to theft especially since we're thinking it will be solar powered so probably not an inconspicuous device. I really like the idea of this being a mailbox mounted device which would give it a great vantage point for taking pictures. Solar panels on a mailbox is not going to work though. It's just really way to early in the project to think about images.
