Problem

Travis is moving away from container based builds (see: deprecation notice and blog post)

I've also noticed some timeouts in recent builds (including latest master). I'm hoping this alleviates that problem somewhat.

Thanks @OniOni - I experimented with this myself, I concur this looks to be the issue on master
