You can lead a horse to water...

See my posts and comments here if you want to make Elon sad. For instance, if most users knew how extensive Twitter censorship is - achieved using this repository - Twitter usage would drop precipitously. So, try to wise up as many as possible. I've linked reproducible data you can use, see my comments.

Of course I realize that. I've repeatedly made the point that Musk hasn't really changed anything.

For instance see my Twitter censorship reports. In 2019, Vijaya censored half the replies to the president of Iran. In 2023, Musk censored half the replies to the head ayatollah of Iran.

Even Ann Coulter - not the sharpest knife in the drawer - realizes Musk hasn't changed much.

Not only is my point that Musk hasn't changed much, but that Musk is in charge now. If you want Twitter to change, embarrass him over engaging in censorship just like the ancien regime.

Also, I knew about the image boost years before this repo. My alternative ranking system corrects that by de-boosting image-only tweets & boosting tweets with more complex text.

People would spend less time trying to wise people up to how extensive Twitter censorship is than they would with comments like yours.

See my More Speech app in my profile. Years before this repo I knew Twitter was nonsensically smearing many tweets as "LowQuality", they were hyping junk like GIFs, etc etc. In 2019 I compiled reports showing how extensive their censorship is. Then, I compiled more reports in Feb 2023 and... nothing much had changed.

Musk has made a few cosmetic changes like the ones you list and has restored some people who shouldn't have been banned, but Musk has not changed the culture and doesn't seem to have plans to do so.

The vast majority of Twitter employees would have been right at home doing low-level work for the Stasi, except they wouldn't have been hired due to incompetence. I don't see Musk replacing their current employees with those who support open debate and I don't see him opposing Twitter's excessive censorship. In fact, he's trying to distract from that by pushing things like the TwitterFiles. That's important, but until Musk acknowledges how extensive their censorship is, it's just a distraction.
