I got this error while logging in with SSO after configuring the auto_assign_group

And do you have no error if you don't install open id plugin?

Had the same issue with redmine_ldap_sync plugin when it tries to lock a user already locked in LDAP/AD. The PR fixes it for us. (That plugin is currently not Redmine 5.0 compatible, but I'll provide a PR there too, soon)

Thank you for the information and creating PR. I reviewed #35 and it looks good for Redmine 5.0.
