Implement minimum viable testing feature

I've split this bug into several parts. See #80, #81, #82, #83. I'll split it up further if I see the need for it.

I don't understand what this checklist item means:

In comparisons with 2+ families, the same string should be used in all comparison views (word/sentence/paragraph/etc) so that when I edit the string in one view, I don't have to remake the same edit again in each subsequent view.

I know we discussed this over our call, but I can't remember the exact problem you had. Can you explain once more?

Reviewing the idea, I don't think its so important, lets drop it
