Outdated lifecycle function for ionic 5 #39

I was trying to use this example repo for my project but ran into the issue using the function:

ionViewDidLoad() {
    this.runDemo();
}

found in ionic-example/src/pages/home/home.ts. Seems like that function is deprecated in Ionic 5 so instead I did:

ngOnInit() {
    this.loadEvents();
}

Is this the recommended method or should I be using ionViewWillEnter()? Is there any likelihood of this example repo being updated for Ionic 5?
