Upgrades and sonatype #104

Updated dependencies and removed the unwanted ones.

Changes with respect to releasing to Sonatype have also been incorporated. Off to Maven Central we go...

Lastly, the latest scalariform plugin has been applied along with some nice re-formats to our code.

Once merged (let me merge post others having reviewed it), I shall then publish to Sonatype.
