I love this Markdown editor very much. If this idea is realized, it would be extremely awesome.

Well I don't agree to continuely add functions right now especially in the situation now that Typora has still many bugs to fixed. Besides, Evernote has lost tremendous users after its new policy that only 2 devices can be used in the free plan. I'd like to export to OneNote instead.

OneNote or EverNote both fine to me.I just want to export to a note book.

I'm still working with Evernote using my payed subscription. I believe it is still a great application, but the lack of MarkDown support is for me a big problem. Typora integration would change this completely.

+1 for Evernote support/export

I tried OneNote, but it is unbelievably slow, both on desktop and mobile. It just can't handle images or loading well, to the point of where I would go ahead and say it's unusable. As bad and cluttered as Evernote is for some uses, I came crawling back and am now a paying member. Editing MD and easily exporting to EN would be a nice-to-have.

@abnerlee You commented on your blog:

Then think about a note-taking app like Evernote. Many person wants it to support Markdown, but now it has 3 sections in this main window, thus if it supports markdown, it may end up with 4 sections in its main window since a preview section will be provided to user. Therefore, I don’t really want a preview view/window on my macbook.

I would absolutely LOVE to use Typora with Evernote.

Evernote Integration in Typora would probably take a lot of time. So instead, maybe you could add a setting or flag that makes Typora:

That way, third-party developers could use a temporary file system to add support for a bunch of apps. I would personally build a Evernote integration and possibly a HackMD integration. (HackMD is basically Google Docs for markdown)

Or, you could open source it. Or make a plugin system. Typora is awesome and I really really want to use it with Evernote.

If Typora can directly export to Evernote, I would like to pay $100 for Typora.

Typora is the best writing tools for me now. If Typora can export to or integrate with notebook apps like https://marxi.co did will be great.

I know everyone has different workflows and needs, but for me personally, leaving behind the bloat and nagware of Evernote was one of the best software decisions I've ever made. Harassing paying customers to upgrade constantly, reducing previously available functionality, and failing to improve any useful features for years were all things I cannot believe I put with as long as I did. If you're on macOS, you may want to consider taking the time to move over to Bear, I'm certainly glad I did.

vassudanagunta commented 5 years ago

@AlexPasternak Totally agreed. Not to mention that putting notes in Evernote seems antithetical to the portable plaintext.

If I had time I'd develop a Markdown-based version of Evernote, with a web clipping browser extension that captures web clippings as Markdown along with images.

My main issue with Bear is that it stores things in a database, not in Markdown files accessible from other tools.
