Cannot paste pipe character in table

Describe the bug The | is ignored when pasting inside a table.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Create a table
2. Paste | or a string containing at least one
3. See the character not being pasted

Expected behavior The character is pasted.

Related behavior: pasting something like words | with | pipes actually pastes words |with |pipes (with spaces missing).
