Addon is not tracking quests effectively #2

Hi, I love the idea behind the addon but it's just not doing the job properly There was a similar addon I was using before that worked perfectly but author abandoned it - this one works fine but has huge problems with recognizing which quest is for which zone Especially the dailies in icecrown as an example - some show up and some havbe to be manually enabled This is the same even for other zones such as pandaria Sadly it takes more time and is more annoying to check which quests arent being tracked than to do it manually

For now deleting the addon, but if there is a way to improve it i will definetely pick it up again

Thanks for the report. I'm not the most active with those dailies right now, but haven't noticed any problems yet.

Though I suspect that you have the "Zen Mode" enabled (see image). The idea of this mode came to me when I was questing in Nazjatar. A fuckton of quests in one humongous zone, which all are in different places. In Zen Mode, only really close quests will be tracked. If you happen to use this mode in icecrown, you'll probably end up only seeing one at a time, as these are rather scattered out.

zenmode

I also just fixed a bug that prevented the untracking of quests, which might help as well.

I've been seeing this same thing for sometime now. I am not using ZEN mode. In Shadowlands, it never tracks the quests automatically. If I toggle 'keep story mode' off and back on, the current quest will pop up for story mode. There's something seriously wrong with it. Perhaps interaction with some other addon. I really like this mod but i'm in the same boat - it's actually making life harder right now and I had to disable it. - I will be happy to assist in anyway

Ok, so I did some testing. I went to Mechagon Island with my L50 Rogue. I disabled all addons except for SmartQuestTracker. I picked up a new quest (not a story quest). Nothing happened. I forced a UI reload and bam it tracked the quest automatically that I already had. I untracked it, reenabled all addons, reloaded ui...bam auto-track.

I abandoned it. I re-got it. No tracking. I went into the addon menu, toggled keep story quests, bam auto-tracked.

I turned on ZEN mode...and it started working. It looks to me like ZEN mode OFF is breaking something. I will give ZEN mode a try.

Thanks for hunting the issue on patch day ❤️

I actually just noticed, the parameter of events from wow changed between BfA(maybe even longer ago?) and SL. Anyways, I fixed that in 4.0.3 available soon on curse: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/smartquesttracker/files/3122132

Please report back, if you still encounter issues.
