https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Overpass_turbo/MapCSS#Color_Coding and https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Overpass_turbo/MapCSS#Icons_for_POIs don't work for ways. They should, as it makes it harder to find POI mapped as polygons (e.g. buildings...). We should be able to put circles on the center of polygons like for nodes.

What you already can do is: using overpass' out center; mode to get points for all features in the result.

Sorry for bringing this up again. Should i create a new issue?

As far as i can see you can't use style filters for out center points though. This means when printing out center for restaurants and campsites in one plot, you can not set different icons for them.

How i would expect it to work: http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/WFp
