Unnecessarily complicated/hard to type commands #5

Open tzhan98 opened 2 years ago

tzhan98 commented 2 years ago

As a user, when inputting many entries into the application, I would want to simplify and reduce the amount of typing that I do.

similar formats can apply with editapplicant, sortapplicant etc

tabjob and tabapplicant can be combined into just tab

Team's Response

It is not very difficult to type "addapplicant", especially since the target users are fast typers. Also the command has no special characters, and shortening it to addA or addJ is not clear and not intuitive. If we want to add more commands with other objects that starts with A, it will be confusing as well.

 Issue response

Team chose [response.Rejected]

Reason for disagreement: According to the bug triage examples, while "addapplicant" is not extremely long, the issue comes in when most, if not all of your commands end in "XXXapplicant" for those involving applicants. Maybe it can be shortened to "addapp" to differentiate with future commands starting with 'A'. (or maybe rename it to candidate which can be shortened to cand to avoid clashing with future commands)

Also, what is your response towards combining tabjob and tabapplicant to just tab?
