Ctrl+C occasionally produces a chain of error messages

Handling cntrl + c is out of scope of the project entirely. Hence we shall reject this bug.

Reason for disagreement: Ctrl + C should just exit the application cleanly. However, the error message will show up at random when you exit the application with ctrl + c.
