You most likely disabled cosmetic filtering on the page. Issues are for issues affecting all user or those who use default settings, and are not for user support. Please don't bring your personal problems as we are all volunteers having limited time.
@stephenhawk8054 It seems that i have made some testing with Enhancer for YouTube™
in my uBO only Firefox and i forgot to disable/uninstall it.
So, after disabling Enhancer for YouTube™
(it is enough to turn off Block ads) it won't popup any window from YouTube anymore.
Sorry, my bad! 😟
Okay, after further testing, the offending extension for making videos not save their time seems to be Workona Tab Manager. Which is... bad. I am hugely dependent on it to make my browser usable with my tab hoarding habits. I don't know why it's suddenly causing problems when it didn't before.
Seeing the "Ad blockers violate YouTube's Terms of Service" message on videos. I only have uBlock Origin and have ensured all the checkmarked guidelines in the post. I am from the USA.
Looks like youtube is just straight preventing the player with ublock on now. https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/assets/72212222/4a27a174-6c55-48a9-a96e-8e52db6ad0bb
Getting: Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube
Some notes:
edit: I haven't had any issues today (24 hours later). Thanks everyone! 👍

cosmetic filtering is still enabled. I said what I meant, that I literally cannot target anything but thumbnails with the element selector on youtube. This indicates something deeper than a filter issue.
interestingly having just tried it, the zapper still can, but the picker can't.

No exts other then ublock origin, default config, newest version ![Uploading image.png…]()
@showierdata9978 Can you force update all your filter lists and test again?
I'm from Ukraine and i got this issue too https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/assets/78845241/06d98e05-7de7-4c9a-b146-420520be4948

Ok i disabled enhancer for youtube and purge all caches of ublock and it works thanks
I got hit with the "ads are not allowed" message, followed the instructions here and while it initially didn't work after purging/updating again it seems to have stopped, both on a default config on Chromium and on my personal Firefox setup.

Not necessarily. There are filters that can also disable cosmetic filtering.
Backup your settings, reset to defaults, update filter lists, test. Does it still behave this way? If it doesn't, it's your custom config causing this. You can also try reinstalling the extension. Still happening? Make a new browser profile, install only uBO, update lists, test again. Is the problem gone? If so, then something else on your main profile is causing an issue. Maybe another extension.

I should stress that before I added the filters from the old issue that finally fixed the issue, it worked just fine. Only now is it broken.
stephenhawk8054 Yeah that helped, i deleted all of them! Thanks! :-)
Seems to be working today after purging cache and updating filters.
It wasn't working yesterday. purging cache fixed it.
Now it's not working for me today again. Purging cache doesn't fix it.
When I'm not logged in, the same video plays. I only get the adblock warning after I login. I deleted all cookies but it didn't change this.
Lists "uBlock Ads" and "uBlock Quick fixes" do not work with yt anymore.
@Jurek-Raben What do you mean by "do not work"? Ads, anti-adblock or breakages?
@stephenhawk8054 If you enable one of these two lists, it will trigger youtube's adblock detection. So in my opinion, all lines regarding youtube should be removed from this list, until someone comes up with a new fix.
@Jurek-Raben Have you followed all the steps in the post yet?
Yes, I have. EDIT: Oh ok, just updated these lists, now it works 👍
I have tried many filters in https://libreddit.bus-hit.me/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/13cdbjp/comment/jjqu3s9/
It didn't work. Then I found https://libreddit.bus-hit.me/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/173jmog/youtube_antiadblock_and_ads_october_09_2023/. I have correctly followed all steps, reset settings, disabled two extensions that may conflict with uBlock (Malwarebytes Browser Guard and Enhancer for YouTube), purged uBlock cache, updated filter lists. I have closed the entire browser window with YouTube and open again. It still didn't work and I am unable to watch anymore :(

Maybe I should close one another window, closing the browser entirely. Or even restart the system? Maybe clear all browser cache? I am from Vietnam. And I do have the same ID 7c155e841
mentioned. Maybe delete cookies?
@throwaway-d Don't add anything. Can you follow all the steps in the post?
@throwaway-d Don't add anything. Can you follow all the steps in the post?
Yes. Maybe I repeat one more time to make sure.
It still didn't work. I use Microsoft Edge. Is there any Edge settings I should disable?
@throwaway-d Can you go to edge://extensions/
and screenshot it here?
Then can you open new tab > reproduce the issue and on that page > click on uBO icon > 💬 Report button > scroll to the bottom > click on Troubleshooting Information
and copy paste it here?

@throwaway-d Can you turn off all other extensions (except uBO) and test again?
Enhancer for YouTube very likely conflicts with uBO.

It works now!
I turned off all extensions and it worked. Then I turned on one by one extension to see which extension is the problem. When I turned on Advanced Profanity Filter, it stopped working again. Then I disabled it, but it still stopped working. Then when I enabled all extensions (including Advanced Profanity Filter), it worked again. Then, I imported back my settings and it stopped working. I believe that my custom filters are the problems. It stopped working when I enabled Advanced Profanity Filter probably because of just randomness. Finally, I reset, purge cache, update again, it still stopped working for many videos. I opened videos and videos again. And it works for multiple videos again.
I found the custom filter that caused the problem:
youtube.com##+js(set, __google_lidar_, 0)
@throwaway-d Please remove all your custom filters related to YouTube that you think it "fixes" anti-adblock. All of them are useless now (and even worse, can cause anti-adblock again).
There's a reason we wrote this clearly in the instructions.
[X] I removed custom config / reset to defaults. <== This means removing your custom filters (or disabling
My filters)
and disabling ALL additional lists you've enabled. It might be quicker to make a backup of your config and restore to defaults instead.[X] I disabled all other extensions AND your browser's built-in blockers. <== No need to uninstall, just disable them. They might interfere with our solutions.
I only had that one. I do have some comestic filters. Should I remove them? My YouTube is working at the moment.
Occasionally the problem happens again. But it works most of the time.
Just as a suggestion: add to the top post list of extentions known to cause issues. There are some extensions that people will not want to disable (like Simple Tab Groups) or just will think "this one is surely unrelated" (like Enhancer for YouTube).
Disable the extension "Return Youtube Dislike "If you have it, it conflicts with uBO, it worked for me.
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/assets/68120127/4193be48-1434-452f-ab95-b71a07e1d5fd no other exts, everything is force updated
@showierdata9978 There was an update some minutes ago. Please force upstate all your filter lists and test again.
i updated, and it happened again
@showierdata9978 Can you turn off browser's built-in blocker, open new tab and test again?
Then can you restart the browser and do these steps (follow strictly the step order, don't mix the steps orders, or skip any steps):
blocked
and allowed
It's happening again. Getting: Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube

user-filters: 2-0, never
Please follow the instructions in the post carefully.

Update on my particular "Youtube isn't saving my video timestamps" issue; it's now happening even with no other extensions enabled, so... uhm... On the plus side, I can go back to using Workona for now.
@stephenhawk8054 That's odd because I clicked restore to default settings and followed the instructions before posting.
If you're referring to custom filters here's mine:

Nothing Youtube related. If you really think it matters I'll remove those two.
I've gotten the youtube remove adblocker message 3 times in the last hour.
@ddouglas87 Hmmm... Then it's weird that there's still an old filter here
##+js(json-prune, [].playerResponse.adPlacements [].playerRespon…
Can you uninstall, reinstall uBO, then force update all the filter lists again?
@stephenhawk8054 Sure. Will do.
Now this popup appeared but only once. At the time, the video was also white and there appeared a skip ad button. The popup begs me to get Premium
