@stephenhawk8054 It seems that i have made some testing with Enhancer for YouTube™ in my uBO only Firefox and i forgot to disable/uninstall it.

So, after disabling Enhancer for YouTube™ (it is enough to turn off Block ads) it won't popup any window from YouTube anymore.

Okay, after further testing, the offending extension for making videos not save their time seems to be Workona Tab Manager. Which is... bad. I am hugely dependent on it to make my browser usable with my tab hoarding habits. I don't know why it's suddenly causing problems when it didn't before.

Some notes:

I have Youtube Enhancer enabled but Block Ads is unchecked.
I have refreshed filter lists (10 minutes ago).
I have all default settings for uBlock Origin as far as I am aware. (Is there a return to defaults setting I can click just in case?)
I rebooted the browser.

cosmetic filtering is still enabled. I said what I meant, that I literally cannot target anything but thumbnails with the element selector on youtube. This indicates something deeper than a filter issue.

interestingly having just tried it, the zapper still can, but the picker can't.

I got hit with the "ads are not allowed" message, followed the instructions here and while it initially didn't work after purging/updating again it seems to have stopped, both on a default config on Chromium and on my personal Firefox setup.

Not necessarily. There are filters that can also disable cosmetic filtering.

Backup your settings, reset to defaults, update filter lists, test. Does it still behave this way? If it doesn't, it's your custom config causing this. You can also try reinstalling the extension. Still happening? Make a new browser profile, install only uBO, update lists, test again. Is the problem gone? If so, then something else on your main profile is causing an issue. Maybe another extension.

It wasn't working yesterday. purging cache fixed it.

Now it's not working for me today again. Purging cache doesn't fix it.

When I'm not logged in, the same video plays. I only get the adblock warning after I login. I deleted all cookies but it didn't change this.

Then I found https://libreddit.bus-hit.me/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/173jmog/youtube_antiadblock_and_ads_october_09_2023/. I have correctly followed all steps, reset settings, disabled two extensions that may conflict with uBlock (Malwarebytes Browser Guard and Enhancer for YouTube), purged uBlock cache, updated filter lists. I have closed the entire browser window with YouTube and open again. It still didn't work and I am unable to watch anymore :( https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/assets/121148372/532a50dc-d94a-4642-bcef-acb45a80fd5b Maybe I should close one another window, closing the browser entirely. Or even restart the system? Maybe clear all browser cache? I am from Vietnam. And I do have the same ID 7c155e841 mentioned. Maybe delete cookies?

I turned off all extensions and it worked. Then I turned on one by one extension to see which extension is the problem. When I turned on Advanced Profanity Filter, it stopped working again. Then I disabled it, but it still stopped working. Then when I enabled all extensions (including Advanced Profanity Filter), it worked again. Then, I imported back my settings and it stopped working. I believe that my custom filters are the problems. It stopped working when I enabled Advanced Profanity Filter probably because of just randomness. Finally, I reset, purge cache, update again, it still stopped working for many videos. I opened videos and videos again. And it works for multiple videos again.

@throwaway-d Please remove all your custom filters related to YouTube that you think it "fixes" anti-adblock. All of them are useless now (and even worse, can cause anti-adblock again).

There's a reason we wrote this clearly in the instructions.

Just as a suggestion: add to the top post list of extentions known to cause issues. There are some extensions that people will not want to disable (like Simple Tab Groups) or just will think "this one is surely unrelated" (like Enhancer for YouTube).

Then can you restart the browser and do these steps (follow strictly the step order, don't mix the steps orders, or skip any steps):

Click on uBO icon > ▤ "The logger" icon, it will open a logger window
Open new tab and reproduce the issue
Switch to the logger window that was opened in step 1, click on search bar, choose blocked and allowed
Copy the logger via 📋 export/copy button at the top right
Paste the logs to https://www.logpasta.com, click "Submit" -> click "View raw" at top right and copy the link here.

user-filters: 2-0, never

Please follow the instructions in the post carefully.

[X] I removed custom config / reset to defaults. <== This means removing your custom filters (or disabling My filters) and disabling ALL additional lists you've enabled. It might be quicker to make a backup of your config and restore to defaults instead.

Update on my particular "Youtube isn't saving my video timestamps" issue; it's now happening even with no other extensions enabled, so... uhm... On the plus side, I can go back to using Workona for now.

@stephenhawk8054 That's odd because I clicked restore to default settings and followed the instructions before posting.

If you're referring to custom filters here's mine:

I've gotten the youtube remove adblocker message 3 times in the last hour.

Now this popup appeared but only once. At the time, the video was also white and there appeared a skip ad button. The popup begs me to get Premium
