Note:

The title for this report is generic, since it will probably be an ongoing issue, as Schibsted continues to update its various sites. My initial reports was for VG.no here: https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/170285/ https://github.com/easylist/easylist/issues/18245/

This time I was able to take a screenshot of uBO's logger, proving that the privacy-mgmt.com/mms connection DOES occur on a sporadic basis, and DO indeed need to be whitelisted as well!!:

I've been bewilderingly tired in the past 3 days, unfortunately; and my lack of expertise in cookie banners wasn't helped by how Avast has single-handedly destroyed I Don't Care About Cookies (which now hasn't had a single list update in 2 months).

tested in chrome => with / without uBO => same behaviour => black frame but clicking the frame the video appears and running fine

I can confirm that it works for me too, in Chromium-ungoogled (not even a black frame at my end. The video displays normally). The issue seems to be browser dependent (Firefox / LibreWolf etc.), so we might need some !#if env_firefox entries in this case.

Anyway, there are two popups that are blocked by 'EasyList - Cookie Notices', and allowing either one of them, only to dismiss them, actually allows the video to play in my browser..

The first popup is the cookie consent ( /wrapperMessagingWithoutDetection.js ), and the second one is an advertising consent ( ||fundingchoicesmessages.google.com^ ).

I tried to allow the advertising consent, and create a ##+js rule to automatically dismiss the popup, like this:

tv2.no##+js(trusted-click-element, .fc-ab-dialog > button.fc-close)

The above rules seems to work, as it automatically dismisses the advertising consent, but the video still doesn't play! It only plays if I dismiss the consent manually, but I have no clue as to why! Setting a delay on that ##+js rule doesn't help either. :(

Same problem though.. It seems to successfully dismiss the cookie consent automatically, but the video doesn't play, unless I perform that same action manually instead.

As far as Chrome goes (because that's where the biggest problems seem to be), the MP4 doesn't seem to auto-play even with all cookies accepted and uBO turned off. Same goes for Firefox.

Someone at TV2 must've had a bad workday. For that matter, I read TV2-no 3 times a day, so I'm quite heavily supposed to notice and know these kinds of problems. 😓

That's weird. For me, the video plays just fine in Chromium-ungoogled (no fix needed). In LibreWolf, there's just a black frame, but if I allow either the cookie popup, or the advertising popup, and dismiss or accept one of them manually, then the video plays! There must be several factors at work here.

Found two workarounds for LibreWolf / Firefox:

Hold shift, right-click on the black frame and choose "Play".

..or for a more permanent solution (not recommended, of course):

media.autoplay.default = 0

Won't waste any more time on this, unless the problem manifests itself elsewhere.
