It didn't make a difference. I've removed the social and promotions tabs on my email account, and for now that seems to be working. For now.

mail-ads.google.com must remain blocked, which is where the ads you see come from. If they're not, look what is overriding the blocking filter with the help of the logger.

It is blocked. I am running the default settings for uBlock - there is no reason why I should be seeing ads. It just started in the last week. Again, I have done nothing to the settings to allow this to happen.
