There was already a more detailed write-up in the preproc branch, I added it to your description. The names of the merging scripts are now referring to their future names (!) that they will have once the preproc branch is merged in.

Oh right sorry I should've checked the other branches! Maybe we can just move what we've added to so-tg/preproc PR so that we don't need this one?
