Use Program Manager groups instead of hardcoded ones. #1

Hello, I just stumbled this project via a Youtube video. I know that the options are hardcoded (I saw those in the code), but I'll like to see those options dynamically loaded. I've started a project in VB4 to be a Calmira-like shell replacement, with the exception that it loads the apps from the same .grp files as Progman uses. This is the main file https://github.com/cocus/vb4-startmenu-for-win-311/blob/master/CPMROUP.CLS where the structures and file parsing happens. Feel free to contact me if you need more help with this. I know the file is VB and not Pascal, but hey, it is what it is. Finally, I think that the list of *.grp files used in progman is stored in some .ini file.

Hi @cocus , thanks for stopping by my GitHub project! As you may've seen in the code, I'm not experienced in Pascal -not even in coding at all-, but I really like what you did in VB. I've been looking forward to get this idea working since the very beginning of the project, with no success. But this doesn't mean I stopped looking into other ways to get it working.

To be honest, some help would be greatly appreciated in order to get this functionality to work.
