tray menu out of screen #1534

Overview

  1. uTox version: 0.18.1-1
  2. Operating system: manjaro 5.9.16-1 64bit kernel
  3. Desktop Environment/Window Manager (Linux/BSD only): .xinitrc with xfdesktop, xfce4-panel (4.16.2-1), exec openbox (3.6.1-7)

Issue

Because of the ugly 16:9 format (as programmer lots of lost space left/right on Laptop) I run the panel on the left side. I right click on the tray icon makes a kind of menu, where I only see some white right border of a frame. the primary part of the menu is out of the visual screen.

possible solution

If you plan only an exit in this menu, a menu is not really nessesary. I had similar issues and remove tray menu in my app. I use the double click event for an app-exit.

I thought until now a tray menu was unproblematic. does it comes since gtk3? however since I read the cat:tray issues here, I am a bit wondered that this is not so. BUT: it is really I low prio issue.

Thanks for your report and your suggestion. I will take a good look at the tray in a future version.

I also noticed the problem on my Debian X/openbox system with tint2 panels. It's almost impossible to exit the app by using the right mouse button on the tray icon.

Same issue on LMDE5 (Mint-Debian) w/ Cinnamon DE.
