In essence, NX
is a grade that acts as a placeholder and is able to be replaced via transcript update. It's a tightly controlled designation which means "Incomplete as a result of documented extenuating circumstance" - and we should only award it where that documentation burden is met.
NU
is the best option for our course extensions. It means Audit
, and has no pass/fail value - it's a null that will remain on the student transcript, and the student will be enrolled in an appropriate summer school course extension version of their approved course, for example:
Course | Grade |
---|---|
MEN11 |
NU |
MEF11 |
89 |
The NU won't be replaced on the transcript, and documents that the student underwent the course extension process to be able to master the content over the summer term.
current version shows NU -- should this be NX
