Relatively simple implementation. Used react-lineto to render a line between two nodes using classes. I've attached different possible cases (on the issues tab) of the tree structure and the lines seem to render fine.

I've fixed up the merging conflicts. Will work on the solution that you mentioned tomorrow! I think I will just merge this for now, then work on it as a separate ticket. :)
