• What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)? Created backend test suite, added GitHub workflow for CI and CD, deployed the app on Render, and refactored the backend a bit.

• What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)? Expanding and improving the test suite, refactoring, and a lot of documentation

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)? Mainly worked on refactoring

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into? None so far.

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)? More refactors, look at refining current features and expand on what we have

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)? -Implemented jwt authentication system

• Adding backend middleware to authenticate users and retrieve user id for db operations
• Created login, signup, and logout hooks and handlers to change state of site depending on authentication
• refactored code base and reorganized directory to be neater
• Refactored entire front-end to work differently, adding a separate recipes and ingredients page
• Refactored, Restyled, and cleaned up all front end components
• Refactored redux into three different slices for storing different states
• Added recipe preferences page
• Completely refactored backend to improve code quality
• Separated route files into routes/models/ controllers
• converted existing db integration to mongoose to make calls more consistent and robust
• Separated routes into auth/ingredients/recipes/preferences
• Added schemas for all stored data types
• Commented and cleaned up server code for readability
• Added basic input validation
• Added production and test environments for deployement
• Debugged deployement issues preventing the website from running correctly

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into? There was a problem saving images so the image to ingredients conversion wasnt working too well so we need to fix that. There were also a lot of problems I ran into when refactoring the project but most of them have been addressed.

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)? Clean up the code so it looks good for grading. Fixing tests to run on refactored backend. Probably add some nice flashy features to appeal to judges. Practice pitch
