• Learned Express Node.js web application framework.
• Implemented Add House functionality:
  • Created form element to capture user input.
  • House data added to backend using POST request
  • Used Async Thunk to update Redux store.

• Backend - Setup API and built the first version of most the of endpoints
• Frontend - Setup up the ability (Redux and PATCH) to change house status
• Frontend - Setup up the ability (Redux and PUT) to change bay

Major Issues/Challenges Faced In the Past Iteration:

• Deciding if the house id would be represented as a string or int
• Ensuring code quality remains high throughout the application

Work Planned for Next Iteration:

• Connect Mongo DB to backend
• implement ability to save pictures

Work Completed In Past Iteration:

• Revised backend API endpoints design.
• Implemented backend API endpoints for Houses and Bays
• Implemented frontend Redux thunks and reducers to call backend APIs to get data.
• Refactored the frontend ProductionLine page layout to render data fetched from backend and added legend and example for house cards
• Finished implementing standard requirement 3 Track Home Progress on Production Line Status Board and stretch requirement Drag and Drop Houses Between Stages.

Major Issues/Challenges Faced In the Past Iteration:

• still have some of the design decisions unclear such as whether to using string or int for data id and the exact implication of different house status
• debating on whether to use both sql and nosql databse or only using mongodb

Work Planned for Next Iteration:

• spin up mongoDB for the project and Use collections to store your data in MongoDB.
• add some more error handling and guards on the production line page to make the app more robust and user friendly
• make house cards clickable and direct to the specific house page

• Created Houses Page:

  • Fetched data from backend and displayed it in a table/list format.
  • Added frontend pagination for improved data navigation.
  • Designed query bar UI and implemented query functionality in backend.
  • Added delete functionality to remove house records.

• Created House Detail Page:

  • Implemented features to allow users to update house status and data.
  • Enabled the functionality to move a house to a bay.

Major Issues/Challenges Faced In the Past Iteration:

• Debugging frontend/backend communication issues.
• Encountered data type inconsistencies which caused integration problems.
• Data updates required a page refresh for it to be reflected on webpage, solved with Redux/Thunk.

Work Planned for Next Iteration:

• Implement additional error handling and guards on both Houses and House Detail pages to enhance robustness and user-friendliness.
• Enable the data fetching from database and pagination logic in db to improve performance.
• Integrate search functionality to allow more advanced querying of house data.
• Ensure data consistency across the application by addressing and standardizing data types.
• Learn MongoDB and connect MongoDB to the backend to replace or supplement current data storage.
