It seems that all three currently shared datasets each have their own, individual formats and directory structures (welcome to bioinformatics!). Do these different formats/layouts represent changes in ubiome's export functionality? I think it would be a good idea to, sooner rather than later, specify and require a format for the data.

That's a good idea and one of the reasons for opening issue #2, which could offer a fix for that.
