Morph Browser page layout issues device: hammerhead #103

HARDWARE used: Nexus 5 Ubuntu Touch Version: 16.04 2018-10-13 FEATURE-REQUEST

In Morph Browser, I would like to see a more flexible zoom-in zoom-out.
The current zoom-in works to make stuff larger, but when I go to slashdot.org or reddit.com for example, new morph browser lays out the widgets in a way where the usual advertising column that takes up usually 10-20% width now takes 50% of the width making the reading real-estate impractical to read in one page when reading in landscape mode. It's even worse in portrait mode. The advert column takes 90% width leaving roughly 3 to 10 letters of blog article column width. The original Oxide browser did not have this issue when landing on slashdot.org or reddit.com/r/linux/.

My suggestion is to allow to zoom out past the original size yes making the text smaller but in theory at least would allow us to see the usual browser desktop mode layout of all the widgets in the page.

Thank you.

I think the current zoom-in is the pinch gesture, a zoom feature is in the works currently: https://github.com/ubports/morph-browser/pull/89 I've not found a way yet to catch and / or block the pinch (the pinch does make the context menu handling / positioning much more complicated, because we cannot easily calculate QML positions of the menu with respect to a position of an element in the page)

Is this still valid? It seems the issue is with the site, at least reddit. Same behavior when you resize a firefox window into mobile aspect ratio. Also, zoom per domain is already and seems to work well on reddit.
