Unknown Error - Does not install Ubuntu Touch on Volla Phone not matter what i try #2189

UBports Installer 0.9.1-beta (dmg) Environment: Mac OS X 10.13.6 macOS High Sierra darwin 17.7.0 x64 17G14042 NodeJS v16.5.0 Device: yggdrasil (Device is really Volla phone interesting that the installer ask about it but then promptly forgot on error reporting) Target OS: Ubuntu Touch Settings: undefined OPEN-CUTS run: https://ubports.open-cuts.org/run/61649186b26de20008d3f16d

endlessly flashing firmware on Volla phone tried 10 times already and its fully unlocked and starting in bootloader booooooo

Here are all the things that happen on Volla Phone with ubports installer in MacOS:

  1. does it install ubuntu touch (any version, stable etc....) ? NO.
  2. does it reboot phone to bootloader ? NO.
  3. does it detect Volla Phone and ask what to install ? YES.
  4. does it offer right installation options for Volla Phone (sailfish, ubuntu touch, volla os, droid...) ? YES
  5. does it download repository files for ubuntu touch ? YES. slowly
  6. does it transfer said files (zip, dmg ?) to Volla Phone ? NO.
  7. does it flash image using fastboot correctly ? NO. doesn't do anything Screen Shot 2021-10-11 at 1 22 03 PM

What you see above is all i see that bar never goes anywhere. on my volla phone it states:

USB Transferring... USB Transmission OK Time: 1 s Vel: 16MB/s

Thats it.

Hi @CaptainMorgan12, thanks for your report.

You may be experiencing https://github.com/ubports/ubports-installer/issues/1578. Unfortunately this seems to be a problem with the Volla Phone, macOS, and fastboot all put together. To install Ubuntu Touch on your device, please try a Linux or Windows machine to run the UBports Installer on. For further updates, please see the issue report I've just linked.
