I had successfully installed Ubuntu Touch on my Shift 6mq. It had 2 major defects and was running xenial 16.4 which is no longer supported. I wanted to reset back to Shift OS G or L which are Android based.
In Ubuntu, I had set it to Developer Mode and the Boot area was unlocked.
I started the Ubports Installer to install Shift L (on the second attempt Shift G) and wipe personal data.
The installer faithfully went through the following steps:
cleaning up
prepare download
0 of 1 files downloaded and verified
Flashing Firmware
Reboot
in Recovery Mode
... select 'apply update from ADB'
( I could not find this option)
then 'continue' -> sideloading firmware
gives 'connection to device lost'
eventually, I see 'failed to boot' on my laptop...
Something is not quite correct about this installation process.
Can you help me?
