Microphone not working by calls #1471

Dear developers, I would like to kindly request your help with the following issue:

Device: FP2 Channel: Stable Build: Ubuntu Touch 10

Expected behavior: Microphone working during phone calls

Actual behaviour:The user on the other side does not hear me, or hears a distorted voice. This can be corrected by pressing the microphome button and setting the call loud.However, that is a strong limitation when making calls. This problem started with an update in february/march and did not disappear after the last update on june 3.

Hi @pmiko,

I am unable to confirm this issue. Since you are using the FairPhone 2, could you try taking the device apart and cleaning the contacts between the microphone/speaker/USB module and the main module? You can follow these directions to take the device apart to perform this repair: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Fairphone+2+Microphone+Module+Replacement/55050

Hi Dalton,thank you for your advice. I cleaned the connections, unfortunately, the problem stayed the same. To me this seems to be a software issue. As I said, when I turn the call loud,the microphone quality is just fine as usual, which was confirmed through all users whom I called in the last 2-3 months. I also found out, that the audio recording doesnt work using the camera ( video works, but no sound). Also,it seems,that the problem started with the system update for a couple of months. Before that,everything worked fine.
