WHATS THIS!!! :)

garro95 commented 7 years ago

The HUD could be combined with some free as in freedom speech to text technology in order to implement voice commands

Flohack74 commented 7 years ago

Is this our place for scopes reloaded?

NeoTheThird commented 7 years ago

@Flohack74 Have you never pressed ALT while using Unity 7? The HUD let's you search the global menu that way. One of the killing features in Unity 7.

I'm not sure if this makes sense right now, though. Since we don't even have a global menu in Unity 8, the HUD is far down the road. That being said, i'd love to see it someday!

OMG, yes please!

NeoTheThird commented 6 years ago

Just for the record, MATE has the hud as well, if we're looking for another implementation example.

The HUD (for me) really is one of the killer features of Unity. Background: As a teacher at a German secondary school I use my Ubuntu phone for regular production. (Yes, you can. It's not perfect. To be honest, it's far from perfect. I could be a lot more productive with Android or iOs. But, heck, I like it and I believe in it and I want to use it and I want to promote it :-). The HUD is a tool that rellay enabled me to work productively and quickly on Ubuntu desktop. I'd love to have it on Ubuntu Touch. Not as a gimmick, but as a real production feature.

Hi. I love the hud in Unity, I think its the feature that the community will miss more after the drop of support from canonical. I would like this to be implemented too in UT. It will be amazing for sure. Specially taking in consideration the convergence side.

Off topic for @ruedigerkupper Me, as a person involved with a language teacher. Could you please tell me how is your work related to UT? It sounds interesting. You may have some good ideas to share. :)

Thank you
