Sorry this autocomplete is driving me nuts, although I shut it down but in the browser it still replaces or attaches words.but I did not find the edit button here.
:) Well on topic, I experience the same, but I think this is by design: The sensor is too far off the center of the phone. So with my ears I am actually not covering it enough. Idk if this can be tuned in the hw/kernel settings though...
@ricmm any ideas on that?
Well with android it is working good enough although with the left hand it is not optimal.
No suggestion if the issue is physical placement on the sensor. We can take a look at the triggers for it as maybe we can make it more aggressive... but the defaults is what we've always had across devices. Is this really a big issue? or just a per-user preference.
Hm, I do not think that this is really a user issue. Like I said it work on Android quite good. I think the sensor ratings are off. FP had also issues with it. What they did is a calibrating app. Maybe we could have the same approach. Therefore the values can be overwritten either manually or via the app.
Its a medium issue, I kicked myself ouf of a call by activating flight mode with my ear etc. Also the phone screen does not turn off, so this increases heat on my face :P
BTW also the light sensor is much too slow. I unlock the phone in daylight, and it takes up to 10 seconds until I can read smth. That must get faster.
Ok I can take a look at current values and if theres any low hanging fruit there.
@twinkybot are you interested in testing a new firmware for FP2? PM me on Telegram maybe.
Steps to reproduce
Holding thw phone to the ear does not turn off screen which leads to unwanted interactions
Expected behavoir
interactionsat ear or close to the ear while on a call should deactivate the screen.
