YES !!! this worked also for me! Months of insecure (is there any virus?? that boots my device twice ???) are past! thank you very very much
How did you setup dual boot?
Has this issue come back for any of you after the corrupt database was deleted?
Yes I still have this issue.
OPO double booting on start-up and sometimes on shut down
When I boot up on the OPO via pressing the power button till buzz. Thee One plus screen is shown followed by Ubuntu Touch screen, then with five dots (goes through dots twice). At this point the screen goes black and I get another buzz from the phone and it goes through the whole process again. This time however (second time around) the five dots (goes through dots twice again) is shortly followed by the sim pin screen and then I am in.
The boot up issue is each time.
However, on shut down (only now and then) on closing down via the Settings option in the Notification panel, the phone will close down and then boot itself back up again.
This issue was discussed in great detail in the UBPorts forum (https://forums.ubports.com/topic/1761/are-we-forgetting-the-little-bugs/26)
Here a user called"kristatos" identified the reason behind this issue:
it is a corrupt media database - "/userdata/user-data/phablet/.cache/mediascanner-2.0/mediastore.db" or /home/phablet/.cache/mediascanner-2.0/mediastore.db
I deleted this db and the double boot/shut down did not happen.
However, this db does come back by itself.
