Reload available wifi access #986

Open Thieb67k opened 5 years ago

Thieb67k commented 5 years ago

Description of the feature Reload available wifi access should be easier than turning it off then on.

Steps to reproduce If you are connected to a wifi access, after a while only your current wifi access is shown. To change or see what else is available you have to disconnect the wifi then turn it on to see available wifi.

Expected behavior An expand button or reload should be easier.

Actual behavior I have to turn off the wifi, then turn it on in the aim to change the wifi access.

I have seen this issue on my FP2, too.

advocatux commented 5 years ago

This issue happens even in the edge channel (tested with a BQ E 4.5).

Although maybe this issue is good for battery life as it seems that the device is not constantly re-scanning available wifi networks in this way?

hummlbach commented 5 years ago

I think that does not happen to me on turbo. But since @advocatux and @jonnius confirm this, we maybe should tag it accordingly...(?)

NetworkManager is set to constantly scan the area. If this is not happening I suspect issues with the WiFi driver or its settings. Works sometimes, and sometimes not, at least on OPO. On the BQs its pretty stable.
