Brightness auto adjust makes OPO screen flicker constantly #990

Steps to reproduce

Enable brightness auto adjust through the indicator or the system settings

Expected behavior

Automatic brightness adjustment when needed, i.e. when the surrounding light conditions change

Actual behavior

Constant upward and downward adjustment of the brightness despite same surrounding brightness. It gets quite annoying, almost like screen is flickering.

Logfiles and additional information

I remember this behaviour from using OPO as my daily driver for many months and through numerous system updates. This is not an issue e.g. the Pro 5, which I have also used as a daily driver for extended periods.

Ok, could it be a hardware issue?

Maybe it´s an hardware issue. I also can´t reproduce the "flickering screen".

In order to narrow this down to an hardware or an software issue, can anyone with an OPO confirm the constant upward and downward adjustment of the brightness despite the same surrounding brightness?

Occasionally get more of a jump in brightness from screen starting dark jumping to bright. Normally just before screen lock kicks in. OPO on dev has happened over least last few weeks but only occasionally, not constant flicker.
