Can you try sudo apt install unity8?

Also can you try sudo apt install dist-upgrade and see if it tries to remove some packages?

apt install unity8 error:

apt dist-upgrade removes:

working after dist-upgrade

This should be fixed now, and you should be able to install appmenu-qt5 again
