Add battery indicator #436

Open ghost opened 2 years ago

ghost commented 2 years ago

I cant find when my battery is charging or not, this could(WILL) lead to faster charging port decay as people try to poke and prod at the usb-c port more and wait to see if its charging or not. Overall huge time waste and will cause damage.

Seems this has been merged in https://github.com/ubports/unity8/pull/226. So....battery doesnt show indicator in POCO M3 with ubports would be a issue....how would the indicator show?

To make it clear: you are not talking about the indicator (the icon in the Indicators bar) but of a way of checking if it's charging with the screen off, right?

The indicators are not visible when the screen is off (for obvious reasons). So you are talking about turning the device led on. I guess you need to contact the porter of Ubuntu Touch for your device to see if they are implemented in their port. The OS has the code ready but needs to be enable (at least I think so)

ghost commented 2 years ago

Would I(personally) be able to enable it?

cibersheep commented 2 years ago

I don't see why not

I don't see why not

how would I?

I good start point would be contacting the maintainers of the port: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/citrus/#portContributors
