Can you explain your question more elaborately?
The binary representation allows for efficient manipulation of the genetic codes in the context of genetic algorithms. The length of each binary string is 3. So for example take 101. I for this case is 1(first bit). That means the ion is sodium. If it was 0, it would be chlorine. Additional details about the specific configuration or characteristic associated with the sodium ion's position may be encoded in the remaining two bits (0 and 1).
So, I believe I represents the first bit.
I didn't get that, do you still have the same question?
Has anyone understood the meaning of I in the paper (genetic search section)?
