Write on keyboard should always search #59

Hello, mate-menu is really useful but it has one strange behaviour.

Open the menu
Hover the mouse on some entry, not in the application menu (like on Terminal or Control Center)
Write on the keyboard

It does nothing but it should search on the menu like always

I can confirm this issue. To fix it would require changing quite a bit of code, unfortunately, since the search input box is deeply nested and so doesn't know when you're typing unless your focus is on the right place.

I'll see what I can do, but it won't be a quick fix

Thanks a lot. It's not a big issue but i often move the mouse after clicking on the Menu button and then I can't use the "write to search" which is the feature I love most.

Damn. Every thing I thought inconvenient was already requested by others. Anyway, It has been 3 years and it has not been changed, so this is impossible?
