CalME user:

After importing from CalBack, need to change the subgrade, but the "edit" link for all layers are grayed out.

This is so even after I enter a value for the UCS.

Is the "old" field checked on those layers?

From the help: Old - a flag (checkbox) to indicate if a layer should be considered an existing layer, i.e., a layer that exists before any rehabilitation is done. When importing a CalBackhttp://localhost/CalME/WebHelp/topics/idh-topic640.htm file, all layers that are generated during the import process are flagged as Old, and they cannot be changed from that state. Any layers added to the imported pavement structure can be selected as Old or New (unchecked); typically, added layers to a CalBack imported structure are not selected as Old since they are new layers added for a rehabilitation project.

Understood, but there is one exception to this rule, which is the subgrade. I was allowed to change the subgrade since the importing process does NOT specify which subgrade material to use. I guess because the LSS layer was also in need of a change (setting the UCS), which MIGHT have been blocked because of this "no change" rule, which blocked any further changes (such as to the subgrade).
