This change depends on qcore and Pre-processing branches also going in. Will also require an update to all users on the updated syntax, along with wiki documentation

Please add a wiki page outlining the high-level design and change of behaviour.

I'm happy - the wiki page looks good with extensive info. Please adding an example will be nice - for difference scenarios illustrating how to run median or rel, and how "median" replaces "once".
