Processing translated ancient languages #25

I have a question along the same lines as the questions from @cernhofer and @emochoa. You mentioned that you used translated versions of the texts to find records that mention at least two cities, but then presumably used the raw untranslated texts to search for context of the record and circumstance of the journey. Why not search for this meaning on the translated text? Are the translations of good quality? Furthermore, would using the translated texts allow you to search for (at least some of) that meaning using NLP methods? Were you concerned that using NLP on the translation would potentially further abstract from the original meaning?
