E.g. nuclear attack on Hawaii incident or fake news? #5

One scenario is a massive mistaken knowledge in a population. I am thinking about an earlier incident, where residents of Hawaii were informed of an impending nuclear attack by an operator mistake, or a case of fake news. In this case, according to this article's typology, we may have a Broadcast scenario, but with false information where a government may want to correct it. Given your research results, what may be effective strategies for correcting already broadcasted but bad/false information in a population?
