In reading about the design and implementation of your sensors, I didn't see anything on the how you decided the exact distribution of the sensor locations. Given the spatial nature of the data, this seems like an important component. How did you decide where to place the sensors throughout Chicago? Did you use population/heavy traffic areas? How do you get permission to put these in different locations? How do you think the distribution might effect the research done using this data in the future?
I also wonder how you will deal with these questions if the project expands to other cities. Do you expect to enact a systematic way of figuring out the spatial distribution of sensors to allow better analysis across cities?
