I am wondering if peoples' ideology migrates during the period of the experiment without the changes of exposure to opposing views. A political event might have heterogeneous effects on Republicans and Democrats, and if this is the case, the reliability of your results could be challenged. Adding another control group might be helpful to adjust the effect: simply take two surveys at the beginning and end of the study period for people who were not assigned to this treatment and subtract differences in ideology score from the current result.
Thanks for your presentation!
