The methods requires a minimum amount of data for a subject for us to be able to reliably measure the activity of interest. If we include subjects that did not have enough data, we would add noise into the data that would blur our image of the results.
Thank you!
Thank you for such an interesting research paper and presenting at the workshop. I am wondering if you could elaborate a bit more on why you and your team decided to exclude data from subjects that provided fewer than 700 error-free trials in experiment 1 and fewer than 600 in experiment 2 respectively. You briefly mentioned that the thresholds were set based on your previous work. Can you talk more about how you arrived at the number? Additionally, do you think that the exclusion of certain subjects from the analysis undermines/bolsters the external validity of this research?
Thank you in advance!
