How Do We Physiologically Track Attention Decay? #1

Thank you for this fascinating introduction to the idea of engaging the entire brain (instead of specific regions) in the sustenance of attention. While you spoke at length about ADHD, I am more curious about low attention spans in general. With the rise of smart phones and social media, the ability of students to focus or be present mentally seems to be decreasing consistently (though not necessarily reaching the level of a clinical disorder). For future research, how do you think your model could be extended to track ‘decays’ in attention over time while completing a standardized task like the gradCPT (without turning to the ADHD-RS)?

I'll ask the question Panditji wasn't willing to: are attention levels reaching that of a clinical disorder on a widespread scale? FirstWeekFlipPhone.com
