Having little knowledge in neuroscience and ANN, I am curious about why ANN has the problem of catastrophic forgetting if this system is inspired and developed by human brain? Is the mechanism for continual learning in human brain still kind of mysterious for neuroscientists? Or maybe there also exits some catastrophic forgetting in human or some animals?
