As you say, it is not always about “the texture of expression that an architecture anticipates and rewards,” but “also the ways in which expression… brings that architecture to life.” This discursive framework is compelling. Do you think that one of these (that is, the expression of individuals and the architecture in which that expression takes place) currently plays a larger role in the formation of affective publics, and in the sentiments expressed within them? Do you have any proposals for how to quantify this relationship on a broader level than case studies?
